Educational Programs

We support the development of future generations through contributions to several educational programs which are focused on recognizing and rewarding both students and teachers for their achievements in education.

Under the “Gifted Children” program, secondary schools in Novokuybyshevsk and Tarko-Sale select groups of talented children, with above average test scores, from the tenth and eleventh grades, to participate in regional, district and national contests in major school subjects. The students are selected on a competitive basis and NOVATEK provides financial support to enable their participation in the various contests.

The “Grants” program is another of the Company’s initiatives to support the education and wellbeing of schoolchildren. Since 2004, students in grades five through 11 living in the Purovsky District of the YNAO have been awarded grants from the Company to support their academic and creative development. In an effort to support local school teachers, the “Grants” program for teachers of the Purovsky District was launched in 2008. This program recognizes and rewards teachers for their excellence in educational work.

In its efforts to create the conditions for eff ective use of university and college resources in preparing students for future professional activities, the Company also developed and successfully implemented the “NOVATEK-VUZ” program, in cooperation with St. Petersburg State Mining Institute and the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas. The NOVATEK-VUZ program operates on the basis of mutually beneficial cooperation agreements that include support for preuniversity preparation of students, subject competitions and professional orientation.
