NOVATEK reports preliminary operating data for third quarter and nine months 2006

Moscow, 2 November 2006. OAO NOVATEK today reported preliminary production data for the third quarter and nine months 2006. Gross production for the third quarter totaled 7.19 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 628 thousand tons of liquids (gas condensate and crude oil). Natural gas production increased by 948 million cubic meters, or by 15.2%, whereas gross liquids production increased by 45 thousand tons, or by 7.8%, as compared with the corresponding gross production in the third quarter 2005. 

In the third quarter 2006, NOVATEK processed 530 thousand tons of unstable gas condensate at the Purovsky Gas Condensate Processing Plant (Purovsky Plant) and produced 4.2 thousand tons of polymer from OAO NOVATEK-Polymer.

 

In the nine months 2006, gross production for NOVATEK totaled 21.51 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 1.90 million tons of liquids. Natural gas production increased by 2.59 billion cubic meters, or by 13.7%, whereas gross liquids production increased by 226 thousand tons, or by 13.5% as compared with the corresponding gross production in the nine months 2005 (excluding asset disposals). 

In the nine months 2006, NOVATEK processed 1.56 million tons of unstable gas condensate at the Purovsky Plant and produced 12.9 thousand tons of polymer from OAO NOVATEK-Polymer.
