NOVATEK’s EGM approves dividend for six months 2006

Moscow, 13 September 2006. OAO NOVATEK today announced that the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGM) on 11 September 2006 approved the proposed interim dividend for half year 2006.

Based on NOVATEK’s 2006 RAS half year results, the EGM resolved to pay dividends on the Company’s shares in the amount of RR 0.55 per share of ordinary stock, post share split, or RR 5.50 per GDR. The total amount of the interim dividend is RR 1,669,968,300.

The interim dividend is payable 60 days after shareholder approval, to shareholders of record at the close of business on 31 July 2006, which was also the date of record for shareholders eligible to participate in the Company’s EGM.
