NOVATEK’s EGM approves six month 2007 interim dividend

Moscow, 8 October 2007. OAO NOVATEK today announced that the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGM) on 4 October 2007 approved the proposed interim dividend based on the Company’s financial results for the six months ended 30 June 2007.

The EGM resolved to pay dividends on the Company’s shares in the amount of RR 0.83 per one ordinary share, or RR 8.30 per GDR. The total interim dividend distribution is RR 2,520,133,980.

The interim dividend is payable 60 days after shareholder approval, to shareholders of record at the close of business on 3 September 2007, which was also the date of record for shareholders eligible to participate in the Company’s EGM.
