NOVATEK reports preliminary operating data for the first quarter 2010

Moscow, 12 April, 2010. OAO NOVATEK today reported preliminary production data for the first quarter 2010.

Gross production for the first quarter totaled 9.98 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 866 thousand tons of liquids (gas condensate and crude oil). Gross natural gas production increased by 1.72 billion cubic meters, or by 20.8%, and gross liquids production increased by 155 thousand tons, or by 21.8%, as compared with the corresponding gross production in the first quarter 2009.

In the first quarter 2010, NOVATEK processed 816 thousand tons of unstable gas condensate at the Purovsky Gas Condensate Processing Plant.

Seven tanker shipments were dispatched for export in the first quarter 2010 as compared to six tanker shipments in the corresponding period of 2009. At 31 March 2010, we had approximately 444 million cubic meters of natural gas and 277 thousand tons of stable gas condensate in transit or storage and recognized as inventory.
