NOVATEK signs Cooperation Agreement with the YNAO

Salekhard, 8 February 2012. OAO NOVATEK (“NOVATEK” and/or the “Company”) and the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Region’s (“YNAO”) Administration signed an addendum to their existing Cooperation Agreement (the “Agreement”) covering the period from 2012 to 2015. The document was signed by the Chairman of NOVATEK’s Management Board, Leonid Mikhelson, and the YNAO Governor, Dmitriy Kobylkin.
 
The Agreement provides for the strengthening and further development of the social and economic partnership between the Company and the Region as well as the creation of favorable conditions for the resolution of certain social problems in the YNAO.
 
During the signing of the Agreement, Mr. Mikhelson noted that “a stable and mutually beneficial partnership with the YNAO is a Company priority and we will continue to work to strengthen our existing partnership relations.”

PAO NOVATEK is one of the largest independent natural gas producers in Russia, and in 2017, entered the global LNG market by successfully launching the Yamal LNG project. Founded in 1994, the Company is engaged in the exploration, production, processing and marketing of natural gas and liquid hydrocarbons. Upstream activities of the Company’s subsidiaries and joint ventures are concentrated mainly in the prolific Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area, which is the world’s largest natural gas producing area and accounts for approximately 80% of Russia’s natural gas production and approximately 15% of the world’s gas production. NOVATEK is a public joint stock company established under the laws of the Russian Federation.
