NOVATEK actively supports regional development by engaging with local communities and delivering social and economic projects. All these efforts contribute to a better quality of life for local residents and improved well-being across the Company’s footprint.

NOVATEK’s infrastructure projects and philanthropy efforts contribute to improving the quality of life for local communities. The Company makes social investments and carries out initiatives in education, healthcare, sports, and culture, including support for the cultural traditions of indigenous peoples. The Company continued to participate in and finance the design, construction, and retrofit of social infrastructure facilities. These projects are being implemented in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Region, the Leningrad and Murmansk Regions.

Supporting local communities is an important element of the Company’s corporate social responsibility. NOVATEK contributes to improving the quality of life and well-being of local communities through social and economic partnerships, taxes, and job creation. For the Company’s large-scale LNG projects, regulations on engagement with indigenous minorities of the Far North are in place. Regular and active stakeholder engagement through various mechanisms maximizes the focus and impact of our social policy.

At the Board of Directors level, matters related to external social policy are addressed by the Remuneration and Nomination Committee. In particular, the Committee annually reviews the Report on Social and Charitable Activities in the Regions of Operation. The Chairman of the Management Board leads local community engagement, with designated officers handling stakeholder engagement at the business unit level.
