Diversity and Inclusion
The Company values diversity of opinion and experience among our employees, as outlined in NOVATEK’s Human Rights Policy. The Company does not tolerate any kind of discrimination, whether based on gender, race, religion, physical abilities, or political affiliation. When recruiting, hiring, training, establishing job duties, wages, and promotions, the Company takes into account the qualifications, performance, skills, and experience of each person and adheres to the equal opportunity principle, without any bias.
Diversity matters, along with other aspects of the HR policy, are included in the agenda of meetings of the Remuneration and Nomination Committee of the Board of Directors.
Complying with applicable Russian laws, NOVATEK provides employment opportunities for people with disabilities, primarily through employment quotas at the Company. Depending on the region of operation, the quota ranges between 2% to 4% of the average headcount.1
To employ people with disabilities, the Company cooperates with regional employment centers and centers for people with disabilities, which recruit candidates even in remote regions. The Company guarantees to employees with disabilities all benefits and terms stipulated by applicable laws, and also follows accessibility principles when designing new offices.
If the number of new hires with disabilities is not sufficient to meet the employment quota, NOVATEK signs employment agreements with other employers. The Company takes advantage of this opportunity, including by taking into account certain requirements for new hires in view of the nature of its operations.
NOVATEK strives to ensure the age diversity of its workforce, paying great attention to young specialists. The Company implements initiatives to attract and retain young talent, from career guidance for school students and mentoring at universities to on-the-job training for students and mentorship for young specialists under the Steps in Discovering Talents program.
1 The quota calculation is based on the average headcount in the fourth quarter of the previous year, in accordance with Resolution of the Russian Government No. 366, On Approval of the Rules for Employers to Fulfill the Employment Quota for Disabled Persons When Employing Disabled Persons in Any Position, dated 14 March 2022. The calculation covers the Group companies with a headcount exceeding the limits set by local regulations in the regions of operation.
