OHS Training
NOVATEK conducts mandatory OHS training for its employees in accordance with Russian laws, taking into account existing risks inherent to the Company’s operations.
To improve employees’ OHS knowledge, the Company:
- annually updates its training program to upskill employees based on a detailed analysis of accident causes;
- trains employees and tests their knowledge in occupational health and safety, including using licensed software;
- regularly conducts briefings on workplace safety and practices for blue-collar employees;
- organizes annual hands-on training for employees at training facilities in safe methods and practices for carrying out hazardous work, including gas-hazardous work, hot work, repair work, and work at height.
Industrial safety assessment commissions are set up at Group enterprises to evaluate staff and issue permits for them to work independently at hazardous production facilities using the Unified Testing Portal.
To reinforce skills in the organization and safe performance of hazardous work, including hot work, gas-hazardous work, work at height, and work in confined spaces, the practical component of training is delivered at training facilities.
To enhance training quality and ensure objective assessment of employees’ knowledge, the Honest Exam project was implemented across nine subsidiaries and affiliates in the reporting period. The project integrates several software products into a single interconnected system, enabling remote personnel training in occupational health and safety during off-shift periods, as well as oversight of onsite classroom knowledge testing at the start of the shift.
NOVATEK launched a pilot project to train and assess the knowledge of contractor personnel through an electronic service. During the pilot phase, procedures for interaction between the Company’s subsidiaries/affiliates and contractors in the training and knowledge testing processes were refined, and the service’s functionality was also tested. Following the pilot, the Company decided to scale up the service further.
